I once heard the words of a mystery play

The image of Dante in comedy held sway

The universal forces in contradiction endure

And i watched as the builder rewrote the new world

Forthwith came her lithesome and lust

The foundations did tremble

But withstood her on-rush

Then the sign of the enterer

From a child adorned

Three calls from the watcher

Announcing the dawn

And i recall as i may how i saw you that day

In radiance such beauty leading me away

Thus torn in two i followed your truth

Into the world here under lay there i with you

Long we did tarry and never dismayed

Fore all the good that we carried

Has long since remained:
