And so I returned to the hills that once served as my bed


As the creek flows down all is offered to the sea


For an instant i forget

Freedom

There is my house 

No longer mine

The devil came to play when i was young

So now the trees bear my witness

The earth cradles my soul

Is that my mother’s voice

Nay for she never called

Then was it my father’s

Yea i best stay lost

The devil came to play when i left youth

And so i returned to the hills of my birth

The rank smell of death lay by the pond

Voices below stir the trees above

For a moment i forget 

And then came you

The devil came to play when i left age:
