About the author
Bob, born and educated at Fairlie, South Canterbury. Trained for teaching at Dunedin Has Master of Arts Degree with Honors in Anthropology, was first winner of Peter Buck Memorial Bursary in Maori and Anthropology. Has taught for more than 24 years on the Coast and is Principal of Rerekohu Area School, Te Araroa.

Vivienne, born and educated at Te Araroa, trained for nursing
at Cook Hospital (General training) and Whangarei (Maternity). Gave up nursing f'or marriage and has been Home Economics teacher at Rerekohu
Area School for 16 years.
